Mommy Arrow Day

Why are you not in school?
It's Mommy Arrow Day!
What?!?

This is what Arrow likes to say on Fridays.  We do not do much.  We take the boys to Marshall, play a little there, go to the Flying Pig for a donut and some Daniel Tiger Neighborhood cartoon, Trader Joes and the rounds there, then back home and watch a few more cartoons, the park, the library and then off to get the boys.  Like I said nothing much but we both love these days.

Walking on the Sun

When it gets above 70 degrees the boys like to say that they are walking on the sun.  This is our first hot weekend all summer and its the last full weekend of September. While the rest of the world is experiencing the hottest days on record, SF never got over 70 in August.

Brian and I want the boys to experience some college as kids to have some good memories, so we decided to talk bart to UC Berkeley.  We were on the 5 Fulton and had to get off because all of Civic Center was shut down.  We walked to Market to get to bart and heard there was a shooter.  Just the night before 5 were killed in a Washington mall due to a shooter and there were so many this year.  It was kinda freaky.  We made it to bart and Miguel must have asked one zillion questions about what happened, who was it, how did we know, what is going to happen next.   Then on bart there were these crazy good dancers dancing.  Miguel was scared at first and then had another million questions. Were they doing this for money, who are they, why are they doing this.  They looked like they had no joints.

UC Berkeley was nice.  We walked around the life science building and the library.  Saw Taiko drummers, ballroom dancers and some kids practice baseball.  All TOnio wanted to do was climb trees and Arrow wanted to chase squirrels.   He was too much.  It was really hot but a good time.

Today Arrow and I watched Miggy play baseball on TI and then went to Chrissy Field.  It was soooooo hot.  It was not even refreshing.

Miguel is asking big questions besides the small ones.  What happens if all the people die on Earth?  What will happen to the ocean?  If the earth just disappeared would everything keep going?    If we disappear where do we go?  Where do the graves go?

Then there is Arrow who is generally cute until he is not.  Like right now he is hitting the wall because I will not let him sleep with me because he yelled at me for loosing his rock.  He can be a real pain.  He just does not listen and nothing seems to stop him.  In general we say no and ignore.  I hope this works.
