Little Casanova

Tonio has a girlfriend. Tonio has a girlfriend.

You have a girlfriend- Kylee.  She is in your class and you say, "I love her and she loves me" and she tells Erica from the afterschool program that you are her boyfriend.  Its kind of annoying.  You talk about marrying her but that is not the annoying part.  The worst part is that you got in trouble in class this week because you were trying to show off for her.  Getting in trouble at school??!!

Last week she tickled you so hard on the bus you threw up.

You like all of the girl attention.  The other week we were at an SI soccer game and during half time you were sitting with the two high school girls on the bench chatting it up while we were on the other side of the field.

One day at the park it was you sitting on the merry go round spinning with three middle school girls who thought you "were sooooo cute".

I cant believe you are only 5.

An added story as of 2-28
So on Monday the afterschool program told me that Tonio was kissing Kylie on the bus and they were kissing each other on the sofa.  Miguel told me that he was not kissing Kylie on the bus but another girl was but the sofa yes was true.  We had a long talk about appropriate displays of affection for little kids and we discussed that when I want to show that I care for someone I dont always go around kissing everyone and what are other ways to show love.  The next day we walk to school and review the no kissing policy (which I have a feeling I am going to lose on in the long run).  Then we walk into school and I say "Hi Kylie" and she looks me dead in the eye and with a little smirk says, "I am going to kiss Anthony today".  What!  I had a million bad words go through my head for this little girl.  I could not believe that at 5 I was already arguing with my son's girlfriend.

The Things You (or Others) Say...

- Tonio:  A girl was tying your shoe at school today and she said to you, "You have cute eyes".   You loved every minute of that.  You are totally in love with girls.  The other night you said, "I love Azaria.  There I said it!"  and then last night you said you were going to marry Kaylee but not until you are 25.  I said nooooo you can kiss at 25 and married at 30.

Arrow at 11 months

You are not even a year and you are a busy man on the move.  You can run- or at least walk very fast and while holding a large ball.  You amaze all the moms at the park.  You love playing at the playground at the boys' school- you want to be a big kid.  At school you were walking around the cafeteria holding a big ball.  I turned around and you were surrounded by 10 girls all saying "aahhh soo cute".  Yesterday I was walking across the street to pick up the boys and you were in the carrier on my chest.  This man stops me and in a thick Russian accent says, "Oh cute Russian boy."  People love you.    You like to dance.  I will play music and you will spin in circles and wave your hands.

My favorite thing is how you wrinkle your nose and crinkle your eyes when you smile.  Everyday I truly feel a gift with you.  You are wonderful.  Thanks Arrow.

Student of the Month

Tonio earned Student of the Month for December.  He tried very very hard.  In Tobar's class he had to:
- Come to school on time
- Have perfect attendance
- Do all of his homework
- Be considerate to all

Tonio worked hard and got the award.  He was so excited.  Today he woke up early and was dressed ready to go about an hour early.  He wanted to make sure he was at school on time to get his certificate.  It was cute.  He wanted to look good as well.  Tonio at dinner said he loved being in front of everyone and had a great time.

Snow

For our main Christmas gift we went to the Sierras with Savita's family.  We rented a cabin and all the kids sled and played in the snow.  It was very beautiful and the last morning before we left it snowed.  Miguel was so excited he was dressed in seconds and sledding outside.  Even Arrow sled a few times.

New Years Eve

The annual NYE bonfire at Ocean Beach.  The boys and I got there 2 hours early and we had the last spot.  We were racing with a woman from the bus.  She got the last open one and I was so sad.  I thought the family at the other pit looked to dressed up for a bonfire and they were.  I asked if we could have the pit and they said of course.  Minutes later someone was looking for a spot.

Christmas 2012

Thankfully there were only a few vacation days before Christmas.  Miguel and Tonio were antsy and fought a lot.  Miguel would wake up around 6.30 and whine "I am bored".  The stress of what the presents are going to be!  I let them open one gift from Julie's mom.  I told them that it was a sweater before hand and Miguel was still disappointed.  He still thought a toy was in that box.

Christmas was rainy but nice.  We kept the presents to a minimum but their uncles Tony and Michael gave them a train set which kept Miguel busy for most of the day.  All Tonio needed were the quarters and chocolate and he was happy.  Later in the day we went to Shanghai King of Dumplings as usual.  Brian and I fought because the man was trying to get us to order in line and we wanted to wait.  Brian thought it was necessary to argue with him while I thought lets just pretend we are looking over the menu to order.  In the end everyone loved their meal.  We went home and had hot coco and watched Home Alone.  It was a great Christmas.
