13 Months

I cant stop starring at this face!  Those eyebrows lifted and that twinkle in your eye tells it all-- I am not stop mischief.

At 13 months you never stop moving- you eat the cat food, splash the cat water, put toys in the kitty litter, pull out my plants, hide the remote control, hide the phones, open and close every kitchen drawer, bang pots on the dishwasher, hit your head all of the time, eat the crayons, climb on the chairs, pull the cats tails, put rocks in your mouth, play with the outlets, pull out the plugs, yell for more- more of anything and then smile that smile and I melt.

You are not saying words but you are talking.  You make noises to communicate and you dont use words but the intonations are there- it sounds like you say bye bye or hi or momma but I think you are imitating the sounds.  Its cute.

You love to play, dance and wrestle your brothers.  Tonio likes to chase you around and trip you and you think its great.  You climb onto chairs and then dance- usually by stomping around and think you are the cutest.

You are a lot more energy but still the greatest.

Chasing Bubbles at Alamo Square

Happy Birthday Arrow!

We had two birthdays for Arrow- his real birthday at the river and a birthday party at our house a week later.  Here he is eating a cupcake at his Mexican fiesta.

This was mainly an excuse for Miguel and Tonio to invite their friends over and here they are playing Freeze Dance.  The girl to the left in the pink leggins is Tonio's girlfriend, Kylie.  He woke up, dressed up and then told me that "Today is going to be the greatest day of my life".  Her parents were going to cancel but I begged them not to because I couldnt break Tonios heart.

Here we are at the River.  We had some pizza and banana bread with Tony.  He bought you a ridiculous amount of stuffed animals.

Your last day before turning one at Stinson Beach.  A beautiful day for a February.

At Freestone eating yummy scones.

Little Casanova

Tonio has a girlfriend. Tonio has a girlfriend.

You have a girlfriend- Kylee.  She is in your class and you say, "I love her and she loves me" and she tells Erica from the afterschool program that you are her boyfriend.  Its kind of annoying.  You talk about marrying her but that is not the annoying part.  The worst part is that you got in trouble in class this week because you were trying to show off for her.  Getting in trouble at school??!!

Last week she tickled you so hard on the bus you threw up.

You like all of the girl attention.  The other week we were at an SI soccer game and during half time you were sitting with the two high school girls on the bench chatting it up while we were on the other side of the field.

One day at the park it was you sitting on the merry go round spinning with three middle school girls who thought you "were sooooo cute".

I cant believe you are only 5.

An added story as of 2-28
So on Monday the afterschool program told me that Tonio was kissing Kylie on the bus and they were kissing each other on the sofa.  Miguel told me that he was not kissing Kylie on the bus but another girl was but the sofa yes was true.  We had a long talk about appropriate displays of affection for little kids and we discussed that when I want to show that I care for someone I dont always go around kissing everyone and what are other ways to show love.  The next day we walk to school and review the no kissing policy (which I have a feeling I am going to lose on in the long run).  Then we walk into school and I say "Hi Kylie" and she looks me dead in the eye and with a little smirk says, "I am going to kiss Anthony today".  What!  I had a million bad words go through my head for this little girl.  I could not believe that at 5 I was already arguing with my son's girlfriend.

The Things You (or Others) Say...

- Tonio:  A girl was tying your shoe at school today and she said to you, "You have cute eyes".   You loved every minute of that.  You are totally in love with girls.  The other night you said, "I love Azaria.  There I said it!"  and then last night you said you were going to marry Kaylee but not until you are 25.  I said nooooo you can kiss at 25 and married at 30.

Arrow at 11 months

You are not even a year and you are a busy man on the move.  You can run- or at least walk very fast and while holding a large ball.  You amaze all the moms at the park.  You love playing at the playground at the boys' school- you want to be a big kid.  At school you were walking around the cafeteria holding a big ball.  I turned around and you were surrounded by 10 girls all saying "aahhh soo cute".  Yesterday I was walking across the street to pick up the boys and you were in the carrier on my chest.  This man stops me and in a thick Russian accent says, "Oh cute Russian boy."  People love you.    You like to dance.  I will play music and you will spin in circles and wave your hands.

My favorite thing is how you wrinkle your nose and crinkle your eyes when you smile.  Everyday I truly feel a gift with you.  You are wonderful.  Thanks Arrow.

Student of the Month

Tonio earned Student of the Month for December.  He tried very very hard.  In Tobar's class he had to:
- Come to school on time
- Have perfect attendance
- Do all of his homework
- Be considerate to all

Tonio worked hard and got the award.  He was so excited.  Today he woke up early and was dressed ready to go about an hour early.  He wanted to make sure he was at school on time to get his certificate.  It was cute.  He wanted to look good as well.  Tonio at dinner said he loved being in front of everyone and had a great time.
