Trips!

We went to Montana and it was cold this year because we went earlier than normal.  This meant we did other things than swim all day.  We drove to Bozeman to see the Museum of the Rockies, we saw Wonder Woman, fished, went to the Reef, batting cages, tours and they did swim.  Another great year.

We drove my friend Paola up to her home in Sonoma to swim and eat.  Our car overheated in the heat and almost broke down which led us to getting the mini van.  Miguel loved Paola.  Following her around, helping her out (I had no idea he could help without eye rolls, whines and without being asked) and asking her to tell stories.  She made a beautiful spread too!

Then we drove the mini van to Ventura to see Ted and Thea and boys.  Miguel, Tonio and I - along with Thea and her two- swam out to these platforms way past the surf break.  Little did the boys know, but a couple of days before they shut down the beach due to 5 great whites. I swam so fast- I was almost sick.  I was completely terrified.  I told them the next day there were probably sharks.  Why?!?!?

Pinnacles Camping Trip or aka Mini Mather

We were invited to go on a group camping trip and it was more of a camping extravaganza in 100 degree weather.  Highlights:

- Miguel in the wild:  chasing raccoons, using a sling shot and breaking a window and reading camp stores.

- The beautiful hike that was highly stressful- the boys running along cliffs shoving each other to be in front!

- Roasting peeps

-Mentos experiments

- Spraying/ killing ants- Arrow

- 100 degrees in that dirty pool with hair balls and was more milky with lotion than clear

This might have been the nicest team they have been on- nice kids, nice coach and nice parents.  I had the best time at each game.  Too bad they never won.  One game was 17-2 (miguel got that second run!).  It was tough.  On Mother's Day they won big though.  IT was so much fun.  They won on runs not on walks or stolen runs.  All the parents went a little nuts but it was because it was such a hard season.  I loved these games.

Final Mommy Arrow Day :(

Every Friday for almost five and half years, Arrow and I have spent together doing almost the same thing.  We drop the boys off at Marshall and hang out a bit, then get coffee and watch cartoons at the Flying Pig and hang out with Sara.  We then head over to Trader Joes, where he gets lollipops and lots of attention.  We go home and he watches two cartoons.  We then just go to the park or library.  It is always very chill.  We just like being together.  I am so sad knowing they are over-  I am excited to see how they go in the future.  Arrow has always been so easy that way- just goes with the flow and does not need a lot planning just good hanging out time together.

Moving on Up

 Miguel is moving on to middle school at Everett and Arrow is going to Marshall.  Here Arrow is with Senor Tobar and every Friday he says, "I'm coming!"  Watch out MarshalL!

 Araceli put on a wonderful 5th grade party at the school.  Here Miguel is with Finley.  The only ones not in that sea foam color- thank god!!

 Promotion Day!

 Right after this picture, Miguel did the biggest eye roll in the history of eye rolls.  So big there was a slight gasp from the audience.  I guess he is getting ready for middle school.

With Kenneth (his kinder friend who came back this year) Ms. Gomez, Mr. Gomez, and Elizabeth.  They were fantastic teachers. They were caring, had great things to teach and Miguel loved them.  So did I and thankfully Tonio will have them next year.
